Traveling guitar project picks up Detroit musicians

People around the world strum away at guitars on a daily basis, maneuvering their language, voices and notes into spellbindings sounds. The Acoustic Guitar Project is all about trying to create and capture those moments.The premise of the project is simple - musicians have one week to record an original song, using their voice and a guitar. Once they are done, they must sign the guitar and hand it off to another artist.

Dave Adams is the creator of the Acoustic Guitar Project. He’s handed off guitars in Finland, Haiti, Colombia and now Detroit.

Greater Alexander is one of the Detroit artists participating in the project.

Adams says he began with a desire to let musicians write a song in a short period of time and create something from the heart.
