WKAR Public Media at Michigan State University has received six regional Emmy® nominations, as announced today by the Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

WKAR is a PBS affiliate serving Michigan's capital region.

Programs from WKAR receiving recognition include Curious Crew and Curious About Careers.

WKAR Public Media at Michigan State University has received twelve regional Emmy® nominations, as announced today by the Michigan Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Programs from WKAR receiving recognition include BackStage Pass, Curious Crew, Curious About Careers, Current Sports with Al Martin, Food Science, and University Distinguished Professors.

WKAR Public Media has been honored with a Regional Edward R. Murrow Award for Making the Grade in Michigan 2018. The series was named top News Series for Region 7 Small Market Radio.

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- WKAR was named both Michigan Public Television Station of the Year and Public Radio Group One Station of the Year for 2018 by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters at the Broadcast Excellence Awards ceremony held at the Lansing Center on Wed., Mar. 6, 2019.

WKAR Public Media staff, associates, and their colleagues in the School of Journalism at Michigan State University were honored with five wins at the 2017 Regional Emmy® Awards on Saturday, June 10, at the MotorCity Casino in Detroit.

Young journalists who wrote about economic despair in Appalachia, covered mass killings in Syria and put a human face on immigration policy have been named winners of Livingston Awards.
