In the U.S. Senate race Democrat Incumbent Senator Gary Peters is polling ahead of his Republican opponent, but continues to be outraised. Senator Peters spoke to WKAR about the race and the biggest issues voters are facing during the coronavirus crisis.

Republican John James is vying for one of Michigan's U.S. Senate seats for the second time. WKAR's Abigail Censky talked to the candidate about the race and his priorities for Michigan as part of a two-day series talking to the U.S. Senate candidates ahead of the August primary.

Republican challenger John James raised $6.4 million over three months in his campaign in Michigan for the U.S. Senate, again topping Democratic incumbent Gary Peters, who collected $5.2 million.

Republican businessman John James of Michigan announced Thursday that he will challenge first-term Democratic U.S. Sen. Gary Peters in 2020 in a key state for President Donald Trump's re-election chances.


Five members of the Michigan congressional delegation introduced bicameral, bipartisan legislation that would require university leaders to review sex abuse cases involving employees Tuesday.
