The former campaign manager for Michigan Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gretchen Whitmer said Friday that he resigned due to allegations that he had said "manipulative and insulting things" to a co-worker on an old campaign and had "communicated inappropriately" with others at that time.

One of the Democratic candidates for Michigan governor announced she asked for the resignation of her campaign manager after details of "inappropriate behavior in the workplace" surfaced. 

The Michigan Education Association has endorsed Gretchen Whitmer for governor.

According to WLNS-TV, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Gretchen Whitmer has written a letter to Michigan State University's Board of Trustees urging the removal of President Lou Anna K. Simon. She is the latest to ask for changes at the top after the discovery of a campus doctor who sexually assaulted girls and women.
