Week 3 of Mid-Michigan High School football action saw Lansing Catholic and Williamston open up the conference season with a bang! The CAAC White division rivals engaged in a back-and-forth battle that was knotted up 14-all as the fourth quarter began. In the end Lansing Catholic emerged victorious, 28-14 the final as they pulled away late. 

Eastern’s Edwards using basketball to teach life lessons

LANSING, Mich. – Julius Edwards has always loved the game of basketball. And he’s also always wanted to help put youth in the right direction. Little did he know that life would lead him down an unexpected path that combined both of these interests.

“When I first got into coaching I didn't get into coaching for the basketball part of it,” said Edwards. “Well, part basketball, but the main part of it was to help out young men and send them in the right direction. My main focus was on inner city youth.”

HASLETT, Mich. -- “Specializing” is a growing trend for young athletes all over the country, and it has changed the game of youth sports. “Specializing” refers to when an athlete chooses to focus on only one sport, over playing different sports year round.
