Monday Morning with the Mayor

Danielle Cusson, mayor of Linden in Genessee County. She talked about the "quiet and quaint" nature of her city. Mayor Cusson joined Peter Whorf on WKAR's Morning Edition program. 

On this week's Current State: WKAR Connects, a series of stories looking at local organizations who offer support for survivors of sexual and domestic abuse; two MSU students who created a teal Facebook frame to show support for sexual assault survivors; a conversation with East Lansing Mayor Mark Meadows; a concert and album release from the MSU graduate group Mirabai; and conversation and song with comedic singer-songwriter Wally Pleasant.

East Lansing mayor Mark Meadows joined WKAR's Brooke Allen on Monday, March 5 for the "Mondays with the Mayor" segment. 

Chelsea Mayor Melissa Johnson was the guest of WKAR Morning Edition host Brooke Allen on the February 19 "Mondays with the Mayor" segment. 

Howell mayor Nick Proctor joined "Mondays with the Mayor" on January 22. He talked with WKAR's Scott Pohl about the city's high occupancy in its downtown, new restaurants and a growing financial challenge. 

Emmett Township supervisor Tim Hill and Pennfield Township supervisor Dave Morgan joined Morning Edition with Brooke Allen on Monday, December 4 for the weekly "Mondays with the Mayor" segment.

Mayor James A. Huguelet of the Shiawassee county community of Perry joined "Monday Morning with the Mayor" on November 13, 2017. "Morning Edition" host Brooke Allen asked him about an extensive youth mayor program, the town and about this year's holiday celebrations. 

On the November 6 edition of "Mondays with the Mayor," WKAR's Brooke Allen was joined by Marlon Brown, mayor pro team of Mason, the county seat of Ingham County. He talked about jobs, schools and security in the county.

Flint mayor Karen Weaver joined Brooke Allen for "Mondays with the Mayor." She gave her opinion about the city council's request for more time to study Flint's long-term water source options, the Lifetime movie on Flint and rerouting of the Flint river.

Our October 9, 2017 segment of "Monday Morning with the Mayor" featured Delta Township supervisor Kenneth Fletcher. He talked with "Morning Edition" host Brooke Allen about how the community of 33,000 includes the cities of Waverly and Grand Ledge.
