Sun., Jul. 17 at 11 p.m. on WKAR WORLD 23.2 & STREAMING | Arkansas high school writers and performers seek healing and justice for their community.

In the Arkansas Delta, high school students Montae and Ray join an after-school club – the Central Rap Squad – and begin writing hip hop music to cope with personal traumas.

When their rural town prepares to vote on a proposal that would raise property taxes in order to build a new public high school, the young men shift their focus from inner healing to social action, using their music and platform to fight for a more equitable future.

MORE ABOUT REEL SOUTH:
The people, culture, landscape and history of the South both captivate and bewilder. In the cherished tradition of Southern storytelling, Reel South reveals the South's proud yet complicated heritage, as told by a diversity of voices and perspectives.
