Resilient Red Wings win 3-1, up 2-0 on Pens

DETROIT (AP) – DETROIT (AP) - The Red Wings are halfway to their second straight Stanley Cup title.

Detroit has a 2-0 series lead over Pittsburgh following last night's 3-1 victory at Joe Louis Arena. It came a bit more than 24 hours after the Wings won Saturday night's opener.

Chris Osgood was outstanding in goal for Detroit, turning back 31 shots.

The Penguins scored first on Evgeni Malkin's power-play goal late in the first period. Jonathan Ericsson and Valtteri Filppula put the Red Wings ahead with
second-period goals.

Justin Abdelkader added an insurance goal in the third period. The series shifts to Pittsburgh for Game 3 tomorrow night.
