LANSING, MI – Ingham County's top health official says swine flu vaccine could now arrive in Lansing in early October. Original estimates targeted the middle of the month.

Ingham County Medical Director Doctor Dean Sienko says the situation is changing constantly and that officials are keeping close tabs on some parts of the country:

"We are concerned about some reports around the country where there are high levels of activity, particularly in the southeastern U.S.," he says. "We are concerned about the impact of this potentially on college campuses and in the school setting. The focus will be on young people."

Sienko says officials will launch an inoculation program targeting schools as soon as the vaccine arrives.
