EPIC-MRA poll: 7 of 10 MI voters don't plan swine flu shot

By AP

DETROIT, MI – A poll says seven of 10 Michigan voters aren't planning to get the swine flu vaccine or are unsure.

The poll released Monday by Lansing-based EPIC-MRA says 30% of respondents have gotten or plan to get the vaccine for the 2009 H1N1 flu that's causing widespread disease in 41 states.

Those findings compare with 57% who have gotten or plan to get the regular seasonal flu shot.

EPIC-MRA polled 600 likely voters between Oct. 11 and Thursday. Results have a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.

61% of the 152 respondents with children say they don't plan to have their children immunized for the swine flu or are unsure. That margin of sampling error is plus or minus 8 percentage points.
