DETROIT, MI –
Michigan Senator Carl Levin is optimistic the US Senate will pass a Health Care
Overhaul bill by Christmas.

Though he says a final bill may not be ready for the President's signature until
next Spring.

Levin admits the bill has been stripped of many of the provisions he had wanted
but he insists it will improve the nation's health care system.

"I think when this bill is passed in its final form that people will realize that whether you have insurance or you don't that you're going to be better off," he says.

If the Senate passes its version of health care reform, the bill will head to a
conference committee with the House.

There are several major differences including one about the public
option.' The Senate dropped it from the bill but House members want it in
the final bill.
