DETROIT, MI –

The North American International Auto Show opens to the public in Detroit tomorrow, and carmakers hope the event will spark a rebound following a bad year.

Some companies are back at the show in Detroit after deciding not to display vehicles in 2009.

WKAR's Scott Pohl spoke with Barron Meade, vice-chairman of the Detroit Auto Show, at a press preview this week.

He says people in the automotive business are optimistic that this year's show will rejuvenate interest in cars and trucks at a crucial time.
