LANSING, MI –

Democrats and Republicans at the state Capitol are headed off on separate retreats for the rest of the week. The Legislature won't meet again until next week, before Governor Granholm delivers her state-of-the-state address.

AUDIO:
Democrats at the state Capitol are meeting up north. And House Speaker Andy Dillon says there's only one topic they will really discuss.

"Yeah, it's all budget. All budget," he says. "And really, to me, it's mostly reform oriented. You know, what can we do to deal with the structural deficit?"

Dillon wants to have the state budget balanced by March. But he says he knows that will be tough to work out with the Republican-led Senate.

Meanwhile, the Senate GOP have planned a much smaller retreat in Lansing. Both groups will focus on their reform plans, and how much needs to be done in 2010
