EAST LANSING, MI –

The East Lansing City Council has approved a change for downtown's City Center Two project.

AUDIO:
Officials unanimously okayed the revised plan at a meeting Tuesday night. It allows one of the development's five buildings to be used as residential and office space. East Lansing Mayor Vic Loomis.

"You know, with the successes we're having in the Technology Innovation Center, as these businesses grow, we're running out of office space in downtown East Lansing," he says. "The developer has picked up on this and that's why they're proposing a change to the five story building on Abbott."

The city planning commission signed off on the plan in February. The mixed-use project will occupy about 5 acres along Grand River Avenue between Abbott Road and Valley Court Park.
