Lions $68 million deal is done with No. 2 pick Suh

By AP

ALLEN PARK, MI – Lions president Tom Lewand says the team has agreed to terms with Ndamukong Suh.

Suh took a flight from Nebraska to Michigan on Wednesday, signed his contract, passed a conditioning test and joined his teammates for drills on a muggy afternoon.

A person familiar with the negotiations told The Associated Press on Tuesday night that Suh and the Lions agreed to terms on a five-year contract worth $40 million guaranteed and as much as $68 million. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the talks were confidential.

Detroit drafted the former Nebraska defensive tackle with the No. 2 pick overall in the NFL draft, hoping he would bolster a defense that ranked among the league's all-time worst in points allowed the past two seasons while winning twice.
