EAST LANSING, MI – In the warm days of late summer, one's attention span for a 600-page novel might not be the greatest, so book reviewer Lev Raphael recently brought in two short but intense thrillers to add to your reading list.

The two books are A Jew Must Die and The Vampire of Ropraz by Swiss writer Jacques Chessex, and translated by Donald Wilson. Our book reviewer is Lev Raphael, and his most recent book is the memoir, My Germany.
