Campaign finance reports show Republican gubernatorial candidate Rick Snyder has given his campaign $6.1 million and raised $2 million from other donors.

Statewide candidates were required to file campaign finance reports Thursday with the Michigan Secretary of State's office for the period through Aug. 23.

Democratic rival Virg Bernero's report was not available late Thursday afternoon.

Snyder's report shows he has around $505,000 on hand. The wealthy Ann Arbor businessman has not said how much of his own money he plans to contribute during the general election.
