East Lansing, MI – Michigan State University's College of Law has started a new clinical program aimed at supplying legal representation to low-income immigrants.
The aim of the program is to supply legal aid to the roughly 250,000 immigrants in Michigan. David Thronson is an MSU law professor and co-creator of the immigration law clinic. He says the clinic will also help state lawmakers better understand immigration law.
In addition to helping clients navigate complex immigration laws, the clinic deals with refugee resettlements and domestic violence cases.
