LANSING, MI – The city of Lansing has adopted an ordinance regulating the sale and trade of medical marijuana. The ordinance covers caregivers who work from their homes.

It would prohibit those who live near schools and churches from distributing the drug from their home.

"You can still be a primary caregiver within a 1000 or 100 feet," Lansing city attorney Brig Smith said. "You can still go to your patients across the city or wherever and distribute it to them there."

Smith also said caregivers would otherwise be subject to the same rules as any other home occupation.
