Dantonio will not coach MSU football team today

East Lansing, MI –

Michigan State University head football coach had planned to return to his duties today against Wisconsin. Instead, he won't be in Spartan Stadium at all, due to a blood clot discovered during a routine post-op examination.

Dantonio suffered a heart attack two weeks ago following the game against Notre Dame. He had planned to coach from the press box today.

MSU Athletics Director Mark Hollis posted messages on Twitter this morning that "Coach D is feeling great" and that staying away from the game is a precautionary measure.

He goes on to tweet that "Coach D's health is strong" and that he's resting comfortably.

Offensive coordinator Don Treadwell will coach the team for a second straight week when the Spartans host Wisconsin this afternoon.
