DETROIT, MI –
A person involved with the process says the Detroit Pistons have decided to sell the team to Mike Ilitch.
The person spoke to The Associated Press this morning on the condition of anonymity because of a confidentiality agreement. The person says both sides are negotiating financial terms of the deal.
Ilitch, the Little Caesars pizza mogul, also owns the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Red Wings. He said in August that he wanted to buy the Pistons in part to make sure another buyer doesn't move the NBA franchise out of town.
