Michigan getting nearly $19M for health centers

LANSING, MI –
Michigan is getting nearly $19 million in federal funds for three community health centers.

The funding announced Friday by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is from the Affordable Care Act.

Cherry Street Services in Grand Rapids is getting nearly $6 million, the Center for Family Health in Jackson is getting $3.4 million and the Family Health Center in Kalamazoo is getting more than $9.3 million.

The money is part of $727 million being given out nationwide to upgrade and expand community health centers.
