Wednesday afternoon, the Big Ten and television carriers announced the times for a limited amount of football games on the 2017 schedule, including three Michigan State football games.

The Spartans will open their season on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Bowling Green at Spartan Stadium. The game will kickoff at noon and be broadcasted on ESPNU.

It's the first time since 2010 that the football home opener for MSU will take place on a Saturday instead of a Friday.

After a game against Western Michigan and a week-long hiatus, the Spartans will host Notre Dame at 8 p.m. The game will be broadcasted on FOX.

This year marks the second consecutive year that the two teams will occupy a primetime slot, and the third time in a row that MSU-Notre Dame will be a night game when held in East Lansing. Last year, MSU rallied to top Notre Dame 36-28 in South Bend to begin the season with a 2-0 record, but lost the next seven games.

On Oct. 21, MSU will face Indiana as the Spartans' homecoming opponent at 3:30 or 4 p.m. The TV network for the game has yet to be released. The away game on Oct. 28 against Northwestern will be carried by ESPN or ESPN2, while the time has yet to be determined.

The full MSU schedule can be found updated on the MSU athletics website.
