The Stanley Cup Finals are now in full swing and Current Sports summer reporter / intern Jacob Herbert, along with MiHockey reporter Stefan Kubus, sat down to discuss the multitude of storylines that have surfaced.

Topics of the discussion include anything and everything from the parity in the NHL playoffs, Pekka Rinne’s struggles and Matt Murray’s lack thereof, the historic run put on by the Nashville Predators as well as the chances that the Penguins repeat as Stanley Cup champs.

Speaking of repeats, the last team to repeat as Stanley Cup champs was the 1997-98 Detroit Red Wings. Kubus compares the two teams and puts on the GM hat to discuss a plan of action for the Wings’ rebuild.
