An Ann Arbor-based organization has been planting trees all over Michigan since 1988. ReLeaf Michigan helps property owners learn about trees and how to plant them, citing their numerous benefits. We hear the group’s story from Executive Director Melinda Jones.
A recent federal estimate puts the number of mature trees in Michigan at about 107 million. About 29,000 of them are because of the activities of ReLeaf Michigan, an Ann Arbor-based organization dedicated to planting trees and educating property owners about trees.
The organizations motto is “Healthy Trees, Healthy Communities.” ReLeaf says its primary mission is educational.
We talk with ReLeaf Executive Director Melinda Jones.
