To showcase the latest in student-led research at Michigan State University, two student investigators presented their academic endeavors at the Board of Trustees meeting on April 13.

Clara Lepard, who recently graduated in 2017 with an undergraduate degree in zoology, presented her research on animal conservation efforts in East Africa and contributions to the global Snares to Wares art initiative. Joel Soler, a graduate student studying neuroscience, shared his latest findings on the effect lighting has on learning and memory.

Lepard and Soler talk about their research and about the many research opportunities available to MSU students. They tell how they have benefitted from scholarships and interactions with endowed faculty at MSU.

And they encourage their fellow Spartans to “get involved.”

MSU Today airs Sunday afternoons at 4:00 on 105.1 FM and AM 870.
