A former staffer for embattled state representatives Todd Courser and Cindy Gamrat is speaking out against his former bosses.

The Michigan Public Radio Network’s Jake Neher has more.

Josh Cline says he quit his job because the lawmakers created a hostile work environment. Courser and Gamrat are accused of using their publicly-funded staff to cover up an affair.

Cline says they required him to turn a blind eye to unethical behavior – so he resigned.

“It is not an easy task to choose integrity over a paycheck to support my family,” he says.

Courser is accusing Cline and two other former staffers of aiding a blackmailer trying to get him to resign. Cline denies that accusation.

The nonpartisan state House Business Office is investigating the scandal.
