There's something else you might see in an increasing number of yards: hives of bees.Backyard beekeeping, especially in urban areas, is seeing an upsurge in popularity. Dr. Roger Hoopingarner was a faculty member of the Department of Entomology at MSU for 38 years and is still active in the beekeeping world.
Hoopingarner says the North American bee population is still in great trouble.
