A former Lansing Everett basketball great, Ferguson pursued a basketball career playing overseas in minor leagues as well as at home for the USBL, CBA and PBL. He later fulfilled his lifetime goal playing in the NBA for the Portland Trailblazers.
In 2002, Ferguson set out to fulfill a new goal in taking athletic apparel to the next level by founding Moneyball Sportswear, a business specializing in making custom-made basketball uniforms for various men and women high school, AAU and college teams. Two years later, he established the Desmond Ferguson Basketball Clinic to teach youth the importance of good physical, emotional and mental conditioning.
