Rhonda Lee, a visiting nurse in Ypsilanti, Michigan, treats coronavirus patients after they leave the hospital. As a front line worker, she risks her well-being and that of her family. Rhonda documents her emotional experience as racial tensions boil over during the pandemic in this American Portrait special from WKAR.

COVID Diaries: On the Front Line is a WKAR original special produced as part of the PBS American Portrait project. Produced under social distancing and other health and safety guidelines required during a pandemic, the story is told through video captured remotely through mobile phone and computer interviews and footage.
