Evening with Rep. James E. Clyburn | TV Special

Mon., Feb. 7 at 9 p.m. on WKAR-HD 23.1 | Majority Whip James E. Clyburn joins former Michigan Gov. Jim Blanchard for a candid conversation about growing up in the south, his work to advance civil rights, and his decades-long career in Congress.

"Evening with Rep. James E. Clyburn" is presented by the College of Social Science at Michigan State University as part of the Governor Jim Blanchard Public Service Forum lecture series. The conversation was recorded at Wharton Center for Performing Arts in November 2021.

This program will be available in the free PBS Video App and at video.wkar.org beginning with the broadcast date and time.

Rep. Clyburn currently serves as the Majority Whip and the third-ranking Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives. He has served South Carolina in the U.S. House of Representatives for twenty-eight years. Former President Barack Obama has said that Clyburn is "one of a handful of people, who when they speak, the entire Congress listens."
