Returning from an extended weekend, "Current Sports with Al Martin" packs so much into the show today that the "Quick Hit Headliners" get pushed back into the last seconds. Really, it's a necessity. The local MSU teams are on fire, and Tuesday's show makes sure to leave nobody else. First, the Elite Eight awaits MSU men's soccer. Engineer Isaac Constans, a close follower of the sport, explains how the Spartans might be able to break down one of the nation's premier defenses in Indiana. Coach Damon Rensing also lends his insights. Al then hooks up listeners with the thoughts of other MSU coaches, as volleyball's Cathy George and hockey's Danton Cole have more to discuss. Al elaborates on the volleyball team's success and the atmosphere as it takes on the NCAA Tournament. Dominating the rest of the hour, men's basketball is all the craze. Coming off of a PK80 tournament that validated all the hype, Tom Izzo and the Spartans are ready for the nation. Callers help visit game after game and player after player from the Thanksgiving weekend, and share what impressed them about the team. Ending the show, Al and Isaac give a summary "Weekend Winners" to capture all of the action.
