From baseball to manufacturing: role of supply chains in global economy

One of the biggest developments in world economies in recent years has been Supply Chain Management. Wikipedia defines “supply chain” as a system of organizations, people, activities, information, and resources involved in moving a product or service from supplier to costumer.

Michigan State University has the #1 program in the country for undergraduate studies in Supply Chain Management.

Current State’s Peter Whorf speaks with  Michigan State University Assistant Professor Hakan Yildiz about his work in Supply Chain Management. He says that the most recent project he has worked on was to figure out how to move umpires around major league baseball in the most efficient way.
