It was inevitable that Current State caught the buzz about Beepalooza. The free bee education event is this Sunday at Michigan State University’s Horticulture Demonstration Gardens. The main question is, why do we need to be educated about bees?
Current State talks to Rufus Isaacs, Michigan State University Professor of Entomology, about why bees are so important to the Michigan economy and environment. He says that bees are important because they provide essential pollination for a majority of Michigan crops during the spring time.
Beepalooza is Sunday June 22nd from 1 to 4 p.m. It includes many education stations and gives participants an opportunity to make their own bee hotel, view inner workings of honey bee colonies and even pet a bumble bee. This event is hosted by the Michigan State University Department of Entomologyand the Horticulture Demonstration Gardens.
