EL budget aims more spending at roads

East Lansing officials are working on the city’s budget for the coming fiscal year. The $32.7 million spending plan features a small millage rate cut for 2015. There will be meetings and public forums on the budget over the next few weeks.The city council will vote on the plan on May 20th.

East Lansing City Manager George Lahanas says the overall the budget varies from year to year, but if the plan is approved, there would be an additional $900,000 in the general fund for streets.

Scott Pohl has maintained an on-call schedule reporting for WKAR following his retirement after 36 years on the air at the station.
