Former Michigan State University football player Joshua King taken into custody after arraignment. He is one of three players accused of sexual assault.
King was taken into custody, unable to make the $25,000 bond set by Judge Richard Ball.
King and two other former football players are accused of sexually assaulting a woman at an on-campus party in January.
His first-degree criminal sexual conduct charge could land him in prison for life. King's third-degree criminal sexual conduct charge could result in a 15 year prison sentence if convicted. He also faces up to five years in prison if convicted of a charge related to possessing an image of an unclothed person.
King was the last to be arraigned in East Lansing’s 54B District Court. Demetric Vance and Donnie Corley, Jr. are the other two suspects. Vance was arraigned on Tuesday. Corley, Jr. was arraigned a few minutes before King's hearing on Wednesday.
MSU head coach Mark Dantonio dismissed all three football players from the team.
It's worth nothing that King retained attorney Shannon Smith, who also represents Dr. Larry Nassar. Nassar is charged with sexually assaulting seven gymnasts at his Michigan State clinic. He's pleaded not guilty.
