Hospitals in Michigan are restricting entry into their facilities to help curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Security guards are standing at the entrances of some Michigan hospitals to control traffic flow.
At McLaren of Greater Lansing, one healthy adult may visit a neonatal, pediatric or end of life patient.
Emergency Patient Care Director Kevin Boggs says all visitors will be screened at the door.
“They’re asking three basic questions: do you have a cough, shortness of breath or a fever. They’re taking temperatures as well. If you exhibit any of those types of things, we’re asking you to leave. We’re trying to limit as many visitors as we can.”
On Wednesday, Michigan announced its first coronavirus death.
The Associated Press reports that a man in his 50s who had COVID-19 died at a Beaumont Health hospital in Wayne County.
The man had the virus and other underlying health conditions.
