Nathan Triplett leaves office next Tuesday after eight years on the East Lansing City Council and two years as mayor. We talk with Triplett about the recent election, the incoming council, and what’s next in his future.

Two years ago, Nathan Triplett made history in East Lansing. At age 30, the city councilman became the youngest mayor in the city’s history.

Triplett was first elected to the council in 2007, but he began his service to the city even earlier, working on a committee while attending Michigan State University.

Mayor Triplett was defeated in his re-election bid last week. Next Tuesday evening, he’ll relinquish his duties as mayor at the upcoming East Lansing city council meeting.

Current State talks with Nathan Triplett about his future and his tenure at the helm of the city of East Lansing.
