Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero and his cohort in Pittsburgh are in the steel city convening a new Manufacturing Task Force designed to spur job growth in advanced manufacturing. We ask the Mayor what’s involved and if he thinks Donald Trump wants to make manufacturing great again.

President-elect Donald Trump made several visits to Michigan during his time on the campaign trail. Winning the industrial Midwest was a big part of Trump’s strategy, and his promises to secure American jobs resonated with many blue-collar workers who defected from the Democratic ranks.

Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero is hoping to see a better future for manufacturing in a Trump administration. He leads a city with a diverse industrial base, and he’s helping launch a new effort to boost manufacturing jobs here in Michigan and across the country.

We talk with Mayor Virg Bernero joins from Pittsburgh, where he’s attending the National League of Cities Summit.
