A national vice chairman of the Democratic National Committee is coming to East Lansing today to speak with fellow Democrats.

Michael Blake is a member of the New York State Assembly who previously worked in the Michigan House of  Representatives. He also served as Deputy Associate Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Affairs in the Obama Administration. He’s coming to town to address the Ingham County Democratic Party Annual Dinner at the University Club of MSU. Blake says he’s pushing for party unity.

"The Trump agenda is destroying opportunities for the people of Michigan," he states, "and for the people of Ingham County and the people of this country. This is an opportunity for Democrats to be able to press ahead and move forward. I want to share that the Democratic party nationally is here to help."

Blake says he’s “incredibly optimistic” about opportunities for Democrats in 2018 and 2020.
