The first MSU Symphony Orchestra concert of the season is Friday night at Wharton Center. Featured works include Lutoslawski’s Concerto for Orchestra and a clarinet concerto by John Corigliano.
Current State’s Melissa Benmark spoke with conductor Kevin Noe, and the clarinet soloist Guy Yehuda, about putting together the concert.
Yehuda says that when Noe sent him an email welcoming him to MSU, it included an invitation to play the Corigliano work. He says it's considered to be one of the toughest pieces ever written for clarinet.
