A long-time Michigan political insider is launching a bipartisan effort to bolster resources for state legislators. The “Strengthening Michigan’s Governing Institutions” project is the brainchild of Republican/Libertarian Richard McLellan, who thinks term limits have left legislators with too few resources to do their jobs well.
McLellan announced the 501(c)(3) initiative last week.  His group hopes to raise a half-million dollars annually through foundations, associations and corporations.

Lansing State Rep. Andy Schor is a Democrat who is one of four Representatives who have agreed to advise the group.

McLellan says there probably is some "buyer's remorse" among Republicans on term limits.
