The Ten Pound Fiddle concert series that starts this weekend is the 40th for the East Lansing acoustic music institution. Pretty much everybody who’s anybody in folk music has performed for Ten Pound Fiddle over the years, many of them coming to town numerous times.Along with favorites from years gone by, the schedule for this season has some newer acts in East Lansing for the first time. The Fiddle’s Fiddle Scouts series for kids kicks things off tomorrow with a drumming session led by Lori Fithian at the MSU Community Music School on Hagadorn Road, starting at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Current State’s Scott Pohl talked with the Fiddle’s booking agent, Sally Potter, to see what’s on tap this season.
