Lord Huron has five songs on the soundtrack to the new Robert Redford film 'A Walk in the Woods'

The band Lord Huron, led by Okemos native Ben Schneider, has had a big year. They’ve released their second album, “Strange Trails,” and they have five songs on the movie soundtrack for “A Walk in the Woods.” Current State talks with Ben Schneider about what lies ahead, including a show in Grand Rapids tonight.

The band Lord Huron, led by Ben Schneider of Okemos, hit the music scene in 2012 with their debut album “Lonesome Dreams.” They have toured extensively since then and made TV appearances on shows like “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Earlier this year, the band released a follow-up CD called “Strange Trails,” and they’re hotter than ever. The soundtrack to the new Robert Redford movie “A Walk in the Woods” includes five Lord Huron Songs.

Tonight, Lord Huron plays at the Covenant Fine Arts Center at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, starting at 8 p.m.

Current State speaks with Ben Schneider about Lord Huron about a possible “sophomore slump” with his second album.
