Ann Arbor play highlights struggles of aging parents and caretakers

Each of us has to deal with the struggles of getting older, and a play coming to Ann Arbor explores one woman seemingly over her head dealing with her aging mother. We speak with the director and star of "Assisted Living."

Many of us have dealt, or will eventually be dealing with, the struggles that come along with taking care of an aging parent or a loved one. The play “Assisted Living,” opening up this weekend in Ann Arbor, tries to look at the ways that complex situation can impact family dynamics.

Current State’s Jamie Paisley talks with Mary Franceschi, who portrays Anne, the central figure and daughter in the play, and director Loretta Grimes.
