Remember what Iambic Pentameter is? We preview the Great Lakes Commonwealth of Letters sonnet competition, which closes appropriately on the Ides of March.

If you remember from those high school English class days, the sonnet is one of the many forms that a poem can take, and the sonnet dates back quite a while. About 800 years, in fact.

The Grand Rapids based literary non-profit writer’s center called the Great Lakes Commonwealth of Letters (GLCL) is sponsoring a competition open to all aspiring poets based on this historic format.

Current State fine arts reporter Jamie Paisley speaks with organizer of the GLCL’s sonnet competition, a young poet named Z.G.
