Rock band. Funk band. Blues band. Jam band. Lansing’s Pat Zelenka Project captures all of those styles in its music. The late session guitarist Dick Wagner called Zelenka one of his “favorite unsung guitar heroes.” That’s pretty high praise from a respected player.

For Live Music Friday today, we’ve invited the Pat Zalenka Project to WKAR’s Studio S. Pat plays guitar and sings lead vocals; the rest of the trio is bassist Bruce Ignatowski and drummer Mike “Raz” Rosetos. The current lineup of the band has been together for about a year and a half, but Pat has been playing with his “project” for around ten years. Their latest CD is “The Elm Street Sessions,” which came out late last year.

The Pat Zalenka Project performs "Magnolia Sunset" and "Chitlins con Carne" Live on Current State.
