Riverwalk Theatre will stage a new musical, “The Princess Who Saved Herself,” starting this weekend. Meet the author of this premiere production as well as the Chippewa Junior High Schooler who had to learn to play guitar so she could also play the princess.

The Riverwalk Theatre brings a modern and brainy twist on those classic fairy tale tropes about princesses, witches, and dragons this Friday. The show is called “The Princess Who Saved Herself.”

The creator of the musical, Edric Haleen, expanded the story from a very short rock song by Jonathan Coulton.

Current State’s Jamie Paisley attended a rehearsal at the Riverwalk Theatre.
