Notes from Susi

Dear Friends,

As we reflect on the past eight months and the many challenges we’ve faced together, it’s natural to lament all that we’ve lost: time with loved ones, family traditions, simple gestures such as a handshake or hug. However, I believe we’ve also gained some remarkable things, including a new perspective on what it means to foster community.

I’m reminded of this each time a donor shares a personal message about the impact WKAR has made in their life. For some, WKAR is a touchstone for togetherness; for others it’s clarity around the day’s news. Another called the station a “joy leader” and declared that together we will get through this! And we will, I have no doubt, because of your generosity.

It is your consistent commitment to us that fuels our desire and ability to keep pushing to provide the highest quality programming, events and news. With your support, we more than doubled our Giving Tuesday goal of 175 gifts for the day, reaffirming our belief that ours is not a passive partnership, but a purposeful collaboration with a responsibility to one another.

We are grateful to you for helping to provide quality events such as WKAR Family Film Night with Wild Kratts and these upcoming holiday specials: Under the Radar Michigan: Holiday Happenings, WKAR Radio: Candles Burning Brightly, and Josh Groban: An Evening of Harmony, and don't miss the Met Opera as it returns to WKAR Radio.

Thank you for your most generous, continued, and vital support. Your confidence in us means everything.

With gratitude,

Susi Elkins
