Q: Any suggestions for engaging holiday break activities?

A: Togetherness is the best activity a family can enjoy with memories that last a lifetime. Capital Area District Libraries on Request Services will definitely help eliminate holiday break boredom blues.. The service includes Grab n’ Go Activity Bags, Take n’ Make Kits, Storytime To Go and STEM Labs To Go.

Yes, I know it seems we’ve been overloaded with togetherness during these COVID stay home, stay safe months. However, research shows that families remaining connected build strong relationship management skills and support in a child’s socio-emotional development along with many other important developmental skills. The Capital Area District Libraries on Request Services are receiving high praise for content selection, pick-up efficiency and high-quality child interest.

Grab n’ Go bags offer five titles based on the reader’s interest selected by library staff. Parents love the surprise titles and age-appropriateness of each one. These are available for children thru adults.

Take n’ Make Kits offer families a selection of free craft kits, including instructions and supplies for projects to complete at home. Topics from geography to animal extinction for all ages are just a few of the subjects to choose.

Families are encouraged to schedule pick-up using MYTime and beat those holiday break boredom blues by engaging in literacy learning fun.
